Face Reality Difference

Types of Acne

Papules and Pustules

Red inflamed solid bumps on the skin; can develop into pustules with a white or yellow pus-filled tip. The most common type.

Fungal acne

Small itchy bumps due to the overproduction of yeast in the hair follicles.

Nodules and Cysts

These are a severe type of acne that present as large lumps underneath the surface of the skin. Nodules are harder and much more painful. Cystic acne lumps tend to be a bit softer to the touch as they are pus-filled. They can become painful and tender if infection arises. The causes vary from hormonal changes and stress to bacteria  and oily skin.

Real Solutions for Clear Skin

More than 60 million Americans suffer from some form of acne breakouts. Acne affects more than 80% of all teenagers at some time in their lives, and clogged pores comprise more than 25% of all visits to the dermatologist. Acne has hit epidemic proportions in adults, especially women. What used to be just a teenage problem is now a real challenge in people’s lives.

Face Reality

First, let’s bury common acne myths:

  • Acne is not due to dirty skin.
  • Acne is not due to eating greasy food.
  • Acne does not only affect teens.

What is Acne?

Acne is an inherited disorder of the pores – pores that shed dead skin cells much faster than normal. Normal pores shed about one layer of dead skin cells per day inside the pore. The acne-prone pore sheds up to five layers of dead skin cells per day and the body just can’t keep up. This forms the microcomedone, the beginning of all acne. Taking up to 90 days, it turns into blackheads or congestion under the skin; or if bacteria is present (which just loves to feed on the dead skin cells and oil), it turns into inflamed pimples or pustules and maybe even cysts. How Long Will It Take To Get Clear? Because it takes up to 90 days for acne to form, you may still have 90 days of acne that will surface. Our acne products and protocol will keep the new acne from forming that would surface 90 days from now. The Face Reality Acne System will have your acne under control in about three to six months (in most cases) depending on your type of acne. Some types of acne take longer to clear. Your Acne Specialist will customize a home care regimen that takes at least five things into consideration – your type of acne, your skin type, your skin color, your skin sensitivity and your environment. The biggest part of getting your skin clear will be your commitment to doing your home care regimen as instructed and following lifestyle guidelines.

Face Reality has gone to great lengths to ensure our formulations are acne-safe. Face Reality products contain only the highest-quality, skin nourishing ingredients, resulting in significant benefits beyond just treating acne. Your Face Reality Certified Acne Specialist will establish a home care routine based on your skin and acne type. As experts, they will make necessary adjustments throughout the treatment process. Additionally, your Acne Specialist will customize each treatment appointment based on the condition of your skin at the time. Sometimes the skin will need hydration, and other times you’ll need corrective peels to facilitate the clearing of dark spots. Your Acne Specialist may also perform extractions to speed up the clearing process.

Your acne can be controlled through the continued use of Face Reality products and corrective in-clinic treatments. In as little as 12 weeks, you will see a dramatic improvement in your overall complexion. Many people see significant results in the first month. Once your acne is under control, it’s important to follow your Face Reality regimen to keep your skin clear.

Schedule a consultation! Your Acne Specialist will analyze your skin, then design a product and treatment regimen specifically for your skin and acne type.
